| THE SCANDINAVIAN GOLD CUP Int. 5.5 Metre Class IJsselmeer at Medemblik July 22nd-25th 2006 Notice of Race Organising Authority The Scandinavian Gold Cup is being organised by the Royal Yacht Club "The Kaag", in cooperation with WV Braassemermeer and the Dutch International 5.5 Metre Class Organisation. 1 Rules 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), and the current Int. 5.5 Metre Class Rules. 1.2 The regatta is designated as a category C as changed by the class rules. 1.3 The Scandinavian Gold Cup Rules for International 5.5 Metre Class will apply. 2 Entries 2.1 One challenge only will be accepted from each country and with one boat only, entered by the National Authority of the respective country. 2.2 Every member of the crew of a competing yacht shall be an amateur as defined by the ISAF. The helmsman and at least one of the other members of the crew shall be nationals of the challenging country. 2.3 Challenges are to be delivered by the National Authorities, before June 20th 2006
2.4 The entry shall be accompanied by a copy of valid certificate of rating. 2.5The entry fee is Euro € 500,- and must be paid before July 14th
Late payments will be charged 20% extra. 3 Eligibility Eligibility in accordance with ISAF Eligibility Code Regulation 19 is required for any person who want to compete in this regatta. All responsible persons with the Dutch nationality are required to have a Dutch starting licence and show it at registration. 4 Sailing Instructions The Sailing Instructions are available at the Regatta office from July 21st. 5 Measurement requirements Competing yachts must be available for measurement on July 21st. 6 Registration and Racing Schedule Registration of competitors will take place on July 21st from 10.00 until 16.00 hours. Races are scheduled as follows
Race 4-6 and 7 to be started as soon as possible after the previous race. 7 Course In accordance with the Scandinavian Gold Cup rules article 6, if two races are to be sailed on one day the Int. Jury will be asked permission hereto and for the length of the legs to be 1.5 Nm as well. 8 Scoring After three races a yacht which has not won a race shall no longer compete. The yacht, which first wins three races, shall be declared the winner. 9 Penalty System The turn penalty of RRS 44.2 will apply with the exception that only one turn has to be made. This alters RRS 44.2. 10 Prizes In accordance with the Scandinavian Gold Cup Rules. 11 International Jury An International Jury will be constituted in accordance with RRS Appendix N. The decision of the Jury will be final and there will be no right of appeal. The Watersportverbond has given its required approval. 12Liability and insurance Participants compete at their own risk and responsibility. The Royal Yacht Club the Kaag, Yacht Club Braassemermeer and their members, the Race Committee, the Class Organisation or any other party involved in the organisation of the Championship cannot be held responsible for any personal or material damage ( including but not limited to death, injury, consequential losses) sustained prior to, during or after the races. Each boat entered shall have a third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of € 1.000.000,- per event or the equivalent in the currency of the country of registration of the boat. |
